Blackie

Blackie is a pit bull but you can't judge a book by its cover. He is about 100 lbs of muscle and looks very scary but he is one of the kindest dogs you'll ever wanna meet! Once you meet him you will fall in love. We got him at 8 weeks old, at the time I had a poodle that had a littler of 4 puppies so blackie was raised by a poodle mom. He towered over the poodles but my poodle dad Fatso was the boss of all of them for a long time!! If you are ever around in Castro Valley you will see us walking them. Don't be afraid to stop us and say hi !!

Hello, my name is Mickey. I'm polydactyl and was born on April Fool's Day. I had some very unlucky circumstances (was found in a dumpster) however was lucky enough to be brought to The Classy Canine when I was 3 weeks old. That's where I found my new family, made lots of friends AND got a job! My job at The Classy Canine includes running the reception area, managing the groomers and security patrol....whew!! I love car rides, eating chicken, pizza, guacamole & chips and playing with the other dogs. After work I enjoy playing with my sister Sylvie, hanging out with my family and playing in my Dad's shoes. I love making new friends so say "Hi" the next time you're in the shop!

Sadie Cortez

Sadie came to our family from my mother in law. My in laws were moving and could not take Sadie so since we wanted another dog Sadie was the logical choice. She was already potty trained and listened very well (she has selective hearing now).
Sadie is a special sort of dog, the kind that loves unconditionally. She is gentle and kind and seems to have all of the knowledge of the world in her eyes. Sadie does not care how you pet her, just that she is being pet even if it's with your pinky finger or your toe she only cares that you are paying attention to her.
The funniest thing about Sadie is that she knows she is not allowed on the sofa or recliners and will abide by those rules as long as
you are in the room. But you know that she heard you coming and got down fast so you would not see her in the recliner. But with the recliner rocking back and forth and Sadie is looking at you like who me? You know she was there.
Sadie loves unconditionally and loves to be loved.

Brandi J was born in San Jose on Oct 30, 2007. She was the best surprise Christmas gift to our family. She is the pride and joy of her daddy (Ray) and then the rest of us come second. HaHa! She is a love bug and has a beautiful disposition and we have been blessed with her.

My name is Missi, and I was born near Fresno in November 2007. I came to stay with my new mommy and Papa when I was 10 weeks old, and I weighed only 2 lbs.I am a big girl now. My mommy and daddy spoil me a lot. They take to shopping. They buy me lots of toys and treats, and take me to Toni for my grooming. I have the whole house to myself when I am home alone. I love to have my tummy rubbed, and going to the park for my walk.

Hi our names are Sammie and Belle. We love coming to The Classy Canine and getting pampered, seeing Miss Toni and making new doggie friends. If we give kisses to the people there they’ll give us cookies! That’s our favorite. When we’re not at The Classy Canine we love to go on walks, play with our toys, digging in the yard and going for car rides. We spend most of our time lounging on our beds when our family is not at home and occasionally we get into the trash, which I guess our family doesn’t like, I don’t know why because its so fun. We also love our kitty friends that live with us even though they always don’t want to play with us. Well we have to go now; we have appointment to go get a bath! Hope to see you guys there. |

Sassy

Sassy is a 5 year old Shih Tzu with the attitude of a princess. We were looking to get a dog but had never considered this breed. When we went to “look” at the puppies, myself, my husband, and 2 children (like we weren’t going home with one) we all were drawn to our little Sassy. Each time one of us picked up a puppy it turned out to be her again. She was the runt of 3 different litters, and was born with a cataract. Not sure of how this was going to turn out we were hesitant on bringing her home, for a very short while. She was so small, the sweetest puppy we had ever seen.
She fit into our family perfectly, we took her everywhere, she’s even been to Disneyland . She is still very small for her breed, but we love her nonetheless, especially when she comes home all clean and perfectly groomed from Classy Canine. I know she gets the best grooming and care from Toni and everyone at Classy Canine. Thank you so much. |

Beatrice

That’s my girl!
Never had a dog of my own, but after a lifetime of dogs coming and going, I wanted my OWN choice this time. I had decided that I wanted a Maltese. And when I arrived at the breeder’s home, a flurry of ten barking, whirling white wooflets came at me! The one they were offering, hid her head next to me, but her sister, her award-ribbon winning perfect sister, planted her feet on my lap, her front paws on my shoulders and kissed me without end. I ran to the car to get something I forgot, and “she” ran after me. The breeder, my now dear friend, Ann, said that she knew then, that Beatrice and I were meant to be together!
Beatrice is a registered Service Dog and accompanies me everywhere—work, (I am an esthetician and massage therapist and everyone knows Beatrice is my assistant and best love and help at work), stores, appointments, and sweet bed cuddler. She is my most trusted love, mothering me always as I mother her. She pretends that she doesn’t want to be groomed, but when she comes out of Classy Canine, there is no more a proud and beautiful young lady to be seen!
I am in the beauty business, and indeed my girl and I have our “look good” in place every day. Thank you Classy Canine. |

Max
December 2010
Max is a 14 year old Miniature Poodle who will be 15 years old on February 16. Wow! In dog years that's about 75 years old. He has been a lovable, adorable, sweet boy all his life but let's face it, Max is a Senior Citizen and as we all age, we need a little extra TLC.
Max loves his Daddy and loves sleeping in until 8:00 some mornings. And yes, he gets to sleep under the covers, cuddling as close as he can get. It would be hard to put a finger between the two of them...they cuddle so close! Mom loves to take him for walks around the back yard where he still barks under the fence at the kids running by outside. He started losing his hearing in the last year so we began teaching him simple sign language and he has responded very well. His eyesight is fading, too. Still, he doesn't seem to mind and has adjusted and gets around just fine.
His happiest moments are when he gets to cuddle on the couch and warch a little TV with Mom and Dad. He's not the same ball chaser that he used to be but he still loves cruising the back yard, sniffing the roses and enjoying the sunny days. And, want to see him get REALLY excited...bring a child into the room and he is up dancing on his back legs. He LOVES children!
We have been a customer of Toni's at the Classy Canine since they first opened 5 years ago. Max has always been treated with loving care and as he ages, they willingly adjust to the "Ole Granddad's" disabilities. Thanks to all the groomers for making his life a little bit better and for the honor of being chosen Classy Canine of the Month. |

Charles "Chuckie" Brown
November 2010
Chuckie was found in July 2009, trapped underneath an abandoned home in Union City. Nobody knows exactly how long he was underneath the home but he was found scared, extremely malnourished with poor hearing, poor eyesight and a few other medical problems. It was apparent that he had lived a life of neglect.
Chuckie had no idea how his life was about to change! Today, Chuckie is a new dog. He's showered with love and affection, wakes to home cooked breakfast every day, goes on car rides, and is put to bed with his favorite blanket and a small bowl of ice cream with a dollop of whipped cream (his favorite treat!)
Chuckie, though very clumsy and quite goofy is being honored as The Classy Canine's Dog of the Month for his courage and loving spirit! It took a few months for Chuckie to start giving kisses but does so now on a regular basis, much to his owner's delight! His family clearly feel they are the lucky ones to have such a wonderful dog come into their life and touch their hearts! |

Dexter

What an honor for Dexter to be Classy Canine of the Month! That he truly was! October is Dexter’s birthday month and he would have celebrated his 14th birthday, but sadly he passed away on September 20th. Dexter’s personality, his loyalty, and his unconditional love that he showed to everyone made him a very special dog. At 14 years, he was playful, energetic, happy, humorous, talkative and cheerful. He was a puppy at heart. Dexter loved daily walks, retrieving his tennis ball, playing in water, and most of all being with people (always wanting to be in the immediate area with us. If we were apart, Dexter would always find the middle point between the two of us and lay there!). Dexter had his own language of “talking” when communicating with us. He hardly every barked, unless of course we didn’t listen to his “talking” and he felt ignored. Dexter was a handsome fellow, especially after a visit to The Classy Canine. Thanks Toni and staff for taking such good care of Dexter. |

Godzilla

Originally a Southern California girl, Godzilla was rescued from a shelter in Redlands, California when she was 2 months old. Now age 7, this Yellow Labrador mix's love for people matches her love of treats. She relocated with her proud parents to Northern California in 2007 and has loved the cool weather. She enjoys lounging around on her sofa and playing catch in the backyard. Godzilla is incredibly loving and has the ability to put a smile on anyone's face. She loves everyone at Classy Canine and although we no longer live in the area - we will remain loyal to Godzilla's favorite groomers. We are lucky to have such a wonderful dog as a member of our family.

Rocco

This is Rocco. He is our 4 year old yellow lab. Rocco loves playing tug-a-war with his rope. He’ll give you a hi-5 any time you ask. Rocco is a good watch dog….he barks at anyone that walks by our house. He enjoys going on longs walks and just lounging around the house. His only job is to fetch the newspaper every morning. Thanks Toni and staff for doing such a good job at grooming Rocco. We appreciate all your tlc. |

This is Punkin, she is a 6 years old long hair Chihuahua. She lives in Castro Valley with her Mom and Dad and two feline brothers. Punkin is a lovable lil girl. She loves nothing better than to go for a car ride in her Daddy’s arms. She loves to fetch and snuggle under the covers when she sleeps. When we come home at night she greets us with treat we gave her in the morning. After she gets groomed she is sassy all day "Like look at me, I'm beautiful".

Hola, I'm Betsy a Bichonapoo. Jorge says I'm bella bonita. He sings to me in Spanish and I let him do anything as he works his magic on me. As a final touch, he ties a scarf around my neck and, voila! I'm even more beautiful!
I let Ruth, my guardian, take me out for walks. And, I must say, after a grooming at The Classy Canine, everyone, I mean everyone, stops to comment what a pretty dog I am. They call me Diva or Princess. It's o.k., I am. And, Chase, a Golden Retriever down the street, always runs to see me. He wants me. But I walk on by. You see, I already have a boyfriend, Hersey, a big Lab. We live together and he adores me.
I'm the bella of the neighborhood, too. I allow my neighbor to take me on walks whenever I want. I think I make her look good when she's walking me. Spread the joy, I say.
I look great, let's face it. I AM the dog of the month. I can't bark enough about The Classy Canine and everyone who works there. They make me feel like the divine diva that I am! |

Mee-Too

Mee-Too is a Sable Pomeranian male that I've had since he was about 10 weeks old, he'll be 5 on March 10th. The breeder I bought from had 3 litters born days apart so there were allot of pups to look at, every time I would walk toward one he would follow, it was like he was saying 'take me too' he was so loving that I could not resist him, hence came his name Mee-Too. He loves riding in the car. He's smart, not much of a yapper unless the door bell rings and was very easy to house train. Every night and often during the day he's on my lap laying and wanting his tummy rubbed, and if I stop rubbing his tummy, he'll use one of his paws to nudge my hand to get me started again. He's very loving and a snuggler. I love him so. |

Hi my name is Joey Bruss. I am a twelve-year-old Australian terrier and no I do not care for Nicole Kidman’s acting.
I have a pretty good life. I get any kind of treats I want by barking a lot. When my mom goes to work, I go upstairs to her comfy king size bed and watch the squirrels until the afternoon sun warms me and sleep overwhelms me.
I am a seasoned airline traveler and have visited family in Chicago and Milwaukee but prefer the Palm Springs desert. I recommend United Airlines for the best cargo accommodations.
One of my favorite places to get cleaned up is Classy Canine. All that outdoors time dries out my skin and causes me to itch. The massage bath exfoliates so well my skin tingles. They take great care with my sensitive skin and I especially like the waiting area with the large flat screen TV to catch Oprah. |

Bijou is a 2 1/2 year old Shih Tzu. He really is a sweetheart. He loves to play with his squeaky toys and that is how we usually find him when he is hiding, we just follow the squeaks. He has grown to be a lap dog recently. He is a very playful and happy little guy. He loves to play rough with his baby sister who is a 35 pound mini bulldog, Liberty. Bijou definitely can show her who is boss. Bijou loves to go see Toni at The Classy Canine. She buys him chicken nuggets and always can find cookies. He has her wrapped around his little paw. |

Jake Sumner

Jake is 3 year old Golden Retriever. He loves EVERYONE and that's no exaggeration! He's also friendly with other dogs. One of his favorite past times is being in the mountain wilderness with his family camping. He swims and "helps" catch fish. He is a great outdoor dog and when Dad gets lost Jake's GPS comes in handy! Jake is a real sweetheart who also loves to cuddle. We love to see Jake here at the Classy Canine. His smiling face and wagging tail always brightens our day. |

Bella Bouchard

Bella, Bella, Bella awww, what a sweet, innocent name for a sweet, innocent puppy. Wrong! She obviously had us fooled from the beginning. I think it was those eyelashes?? One bat of those and she’ll have you wrapped around her little paw. Bella is one of the most feisty, high energy pups you’ll ever meet! The neighbors call daily to see if she can play with her pals Sophie, Billy and Mini. They always say how much they like her around because she never fails to tire out all of the other dogs. Other than playing with her friends Bella also likes to take walks around the park, play keep away in the house and she loves to chase all of the wildlife out in the backyard. And I mean all the wildlife, including the skunks. Miss Bella has been sprayed twice in the last week and thanks to The Classy Canine she’s come home smelling as fresh as a daisy. She is now known in our household as Stinker Bell. Although Bella is high energy she can also be very sweet and cuddly. She loves to sleep on the end of the bed every night and when you come in the house she’s always the first one to greet you with an excited wag of her tail. As you have probably guessed Bella is an absolutely wonderful dog and she is honored to represent The Classy Canine for the month of August!

Maya Brown

Maya is a bundle of love in a compact, hairy exterior. She adores being with people and is always excited about making new friends. She sometimes likes to radiate a tough-girl attitude, but it is only play and she quickly succumbs to a vigorous tummy rub.
Her happy-go-lucky personality belies the fact that she is an incarnation of Diana the Huntress. Her love of people is only rivaled by her love of an exciting hunt and a challenging game of chase with fleet footed prey. Did I mention she likes to eat bees???
